We want to make sure you are pre-qualified and have a clear path forward before you spend your valuable time and energy scheduling appointments and obtaining a prescription. 

To ensure insurance providers cover your hair solution, they require proof of medical necessity. We cannot verify your specific coverage until these documents are in hand.

Step 1: Schedule an Appointment

Book a visit with your Primary Care Physician or a Dermatologist. Dermatologists are the specialists most familiar with diagnosing hair loss conditions like Alopecia, Trichotillomania, or scalp injuries. If you are undergoing treatment for cancer, your Oncologist can also provide these documents.

Step 2: Get Your Formal Diagnosis

During your appointment, ask your doctor to identify the medical cause of your hair loss. This diagnosis must be recorded in your medical file with a specific ICD-10 Code (a standard medical code used by insurance companies to process claims).

Step 3: Request Your "Cranial Prosthesis" Prescription

This is the most important step. Ask your doctor to write a formal prescription. To ensure insurance acceptance, your prescription must be on official physician letterhead and specifically written for a "Cranial Prosthesis." It must also include relevant medical diagnosis codes (ICD-10) and the physician's full details and signature.

Crucial Tip: The prescription must use the medical term "Cranial Prosthesis." > Important: If the doctor writes the word "wig," insurance companies will often deny the claim as a cosmetic expense. Using the term "Cranial Prosthesis" identifies it as a necessary medical device.
